Where we're coming from...

We often think of our Grandparents. You see, the Latigo Bay workshops are located in a small barn that our Grandfather built years ago - he always called it the "Chicken Coop," to distinguish it from the large-animal barn that has since disappeared from the property. We converted the coop, 53 years after it was built, when we outgrew our original shop, and we keep Grandpa's photo on the wall, to remind us of where we came from.

We can remember our Grandparents thumbing through the mail order catalogs that came to their farm, trying to decide whether they could get by with the "Good" quality merchandise or if they should try to afford the "Better"' or "Best."

When we started handcrafting Latigo Bay bags 15 years ago, we also made a few "good," a few "better," and a few "best." We were hopeful that our new clients would see the long term value of the best, but we also knew that the extra expense might turn some people to a cheaper bag.

Thankfully, it didn't take us long to learn that there are plenty of you who want only the finest. Since then we've devoted ourselves to filling your needs, handcrafting Latigo Bay bags to classic designs with the finest leather available.
