Shoulder Saddle BagNow, we had this customer- He'd bought a bag from us- came by our booth and said, "How about making me a shoulder bag/saddle bag?" We're always open to new concepts, so we listened to him. But he said' "What I want is something to hang over my shoulder like a saddle! Close to my body, so I can wear it under a jacket, or a coat, or even out in the open." Well, we couldn't come up with much, and couldn't imagine how we could sell such a thing, but the next year, who showed up at our booth but the same fellow. And what was he wearing? Well it was a dead terry-cloth towel. He had cut it up so it fit over his shoulder like a saddlebag. And he had safety pinned these pockets and pouches to it- they were made of cardboard- to show us what he had in mind. And we changed our mind. It was a good idea! A shoulder/saddle bag. Hand crafted out of the finest soft leather. Three big zippered pouches. Two magnetic snap pockets. A couple passport and airline ticket pockets. A place for our fountain pens. Two hidden zippered money (or whatever) pouches hidden inside. And all in the most elegant leather- and it's cut just right so it hangs just right on your shoulder and, I mean, this is a good idea! So we made this fellow one. And he liked it so much that the next week he drove 350 miles to our studio (got two speeding tickets) just to get two more-one for his father and one for a friend. Now this shoulder/saddle bag is not for everyone. Most people that try to put it on, they first hang it over their necks like a horse's yoke. But you hang it over your shoulder. And if it feels right-it might be perfect for you. It's a different concept. Not your run of the mill. A serious bag that will serve your needs.
