Cantle Bags

Now, cantle bags have been pretty straight forward- a flat bag, sometimes curved to fit around the back of a saddle, made to hold your stuff. When you tie it to your saddle, you lose a bit of space because it has to form to the shape of your horse's back too. It works okay.
We've made a few refinements to the traditional cantle bag. We've designed our cantle bag to fit the curve of your saddle and the curve of your horse's back. This gives you the maximum amount of space and it looks good doing it, kind of "ergonomic".

The original Cantle Bag was designed for my Ortho Flex Express Lite Saddle. Cherokee's Cantle Bag has been in use since 1998 and still looks like new, after covering many miles. It goes with us everywhere - familiar trails or exploring new territory. We use the regular size - it contains our survival kit. We're prepared to handle small emergencies, hopefully keeping us safe until help arrives.

There is even room for some horse treats too.

We've hand-crafted our cantle bag, from a premium, analine-dyed cowhide -light weight, but extremely durable. This fine leather is dyed all the way through [drum-dyed], so even deep scratches will blend in with a little saddle oil. It has a YKK nylon coil zipper and solid brass D-rings to tie the cantle bag to your saddle. It's built to last many years on the trail and look great the whole time.
